tHough i Haven't had much go on in my life that could compare to cHris' experiences, there have been times when getting away seems like a great idea to go over things in my head, though not leaving for good or anything. fOr me, getting away can be as simple as pulling my guitar out, closing my bedroom door and recording stuffs. tHere is nothing i Can compare to making music, trying to recreate what i Imagine and then showing someone else whats going on in my head via the music even if the emotions of my music fail to mirror my own, its still my thoughts i suppose. dAring would be a great word to describe cHris with since he decided to act on his thoughts which lead to a very intense journey that would scare most despite yearning for the same. hE went through with it. tHe author is trying to express the basic need of independence and a search for ones self by looking about the world. sOmetimes the most important parts of ourselves become apparent through external experiences. i Think cHris' adventure is similar in its own way to the journey off to college in which one often finds out alot about themself. fOr cHris however college was not enough, and futher soul searching seemed neccesary which can often be the case. oNe doesn't allways find themself in an institution they're expected to continue on to.

iT's not often that i Come accross a movie i Truly dislike. nOr do i normally find myself tuned into dIsney cHannel movies, yet as i Sat with my girlfriend some months ago i Came to the awful conclusion that both were occurring. hEre is how HSM3 was created: a group of excutives from dIsney cHannel sat around a table drinking coffee and grunting. tHey asked their annilists what kids like these days. tHey came up with HSM1 and the world hasn't been the same. nOw with the coming of number 2 and 3 things have gotten horribly worse. nOt only has our economy gone down the drain but world relations have continued to worsen. tHere is no doubt in my mind that the music written was transposed by humans but actually written by the devil or some lesser evil thing. tO top off the level of musical quality the dIsney execs deciced to half-ass the money put into recording thus providing the viewer with horribly recorded horrible tunes. tHe acting is amazing minus the "amazing" and i'M embarrised to be human when i Here HSM1, HSM2, and HSM3 comments. aNything being said. eVen bad things make me throw up since the mere idea that humanity hasn't anniliated these movies terrifies me. i'M even throwing up right now. mY keyboard is gonna have to be disinfected. oH well. bAd movie, tastless plot, pretty faces. tHats all you need to catch the heart of millions of girls from 5-18.

cOheed & cAmbria's "iN kEeeping sEcrets oF sIlent eArth 3"

fRom the raw, emotional first track "iN kEeping sEcrets oF sIlent eArth 3" to the impressivly haunting closing track "2113" there exists a constant flow of dark imagery spilt upon the bloody canvas of Claudio Sanchez. IKSoSE3 marks the second installment of Claudio's deep and mysterious fantasy which will be told through 5 concept albums. wIth c&c's growth in popularity has come advanced attention to production and the difference between "tHe sEcond sTage tUrbine bLade" is amazing though both albums have proven inovative in their respective ways. tHe band's sound develops in sophistication and attention to detail as has the originality in song writing yet to anyone familiar with the preceeding freshmen album will automatically connect deeply with sIlent eArth 3. wHat may be most significant is that only after their following cd "gOod aPollo, i'M bUrning sTar IV: vOl 1 fRom fEar tHrough tHe eYes oF mAdness" did they reach their current level of popularity and yet both earlier cds exhibit an amazing level of talent within the iNdie rOck genre. aNy one who has enjoyed their newer material will find incredible appreciation for their older, lesser known material. aFter all, i First heard them on tv and only was familiar with two songs off gOod aPollo and then finally obtained IKSoSE3, then later all of gOod aPollo. wHile i Have a deep love for all the songs they have written, something significantly raw and powerful resenates within the lyrics on IKSoSE3's album titled track:

dEar mR. pResident,

i'M asking that you work hard to restore our economy. wE need to renationalize our economy reversing what gReenspan did back in the late 80's and early 90's. yOu can't trust large companies to put people always first as was seen with people receiving money they couldn't pay back. wE must heal the housing industry, but how we'll do it i Haven't the feintest clue. jUst make sure you sorround yourself with smart people with differing opinions so you can make well informed ones that will lead the country to prosperity. :D

i Got a new guitar for my birthday a few weeks ago which was sweet. i Had to return the one i got and upgrade it cause i Had some extra money from work. aLso i Overdrafted on my debit card which was bad news cause i did it like twice when i didn't have enough cash. sO thats $60 out of my pocket. oH well, i'M about to go to math with mAtt and we'll have a great time. wHo knows, maybe we'll do well on the test tomorrow.

sO last night i bought mgmt'S CD On itUnes which was a good move cause it turns out i very much enjoy them. i Wish i had bought their music video as well which is $2 but w/e, i don't need to have that version, cause anyways its edited so that's no fun. hEre are some of the lyrics i like alot already:

i Think the theme of this here poem is that love, passion, and desire are sometimes unberiable when the desired is watched from a distance. i Don't think that made sense... basically i Think the author can't be with his/her desired other and he/she is blaming an angel (similar to a cupid like person...). tHe author uses metaphor by blaming this "aNgel" for his or her love issues and agony.

fOr my own metaphor, i Would say that love is like a bed. wHen you're in bed alone, the bed is sometimes cool, sometimes warm. bUt when there are two people in a bed (or in a relationship) then the bed is most certainly warm and comfertable. iF the relationship is going poorly, then the two are on either sides of the bed and there is a cold gap between them.

2. i Picked this poem since i'Ve always enjoyed eDgar aLlan pOe's work when we've gone over it in school. tHe style of writing, its odd metaphors and the sort make it an intriguing read.
3. tHe title is simple enough. iT tell the reader what his poem is commenting on as it may be harder to determine by reading it alone.
4. pOe uses both metaphor and imagery. bOth allow him to express romance in his own way both making connections with readers and showing us how he views romance.
5. tHe tone seems somewhat somber and reminiscent, a nostalgia filled memory if you will.

sO hElmets nOt a cHair is gonna play the hOmecoming rOast! wE did a show at the gArage last friday which was alot of fun and surprisingly better than the show several weeks before there. tHis next show for hOmecoming will be alot of fun though cause we're the oldest band (except for the kElpies cause they're made up of seniors and college students) and we've played it two times before so we should most likely get the last slot in the show (we've been the opening act twice so as seniors we should most def get the prime spot!?! oH well, we'll see tomorrow at the meeting. iF you don't know if you're gonna come and listen on next wed then you should at least check out the band's myspace which has a few songs off our upcoming ep "hAul aSs or nOthing" which is abundent with man rock. sWeet

dAn and i Circled around the wYman building for the third time before taking a wrong turn down 4th aVenue. a Distant, poorly mixed recording of mAiden tHerapy, one of our earliest creations (some three years old) hummed through the car speakers. iT would be ten more minutes before we'd find the parking lot nearest the studio and another fifteen before our gear would freight up the elavator towards our sound-proff room full of expensive microphones and excessive cords.

tHis was not the first time that dAn and i Had entered nElsound sTudio - dOug and mAtt had just parked in the lot accross the street and would shortly be joining us - but it was the first time dAn and i Had heived over 100 pounds of drums, guitars and amps in to the somewhat familiar living room of the studio. wAiting down at the front door had been mIchael nElson, owner of nElsound sTudio and soon to be engineer and producer of what we hoped to be our very own masterpeice: a Self financed five song ep of mAn rOck.

hEy, yall, so i'Ve been listening to a new band lately which really rocks out. tHeir called pRotest tHe hEro, and even though i Found out they're from cAnada, they still are disgusting. tHe guitar work, vocal work, bass work, and drum work (as it happens, the whole band) are all top notch and redicously prestine. i Bought their cd after my girlfriends brother bothered me into listening and then i talked to my girlfriends older sister's boyfriend who had actually introduced my girlfiends brother, and then me. i'M confused, and not sure if we're supposted to be writing about just anything right now so i'M gonna stop this and ask kRaus whom is next to me. oH, here is a video of them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypCdGNe3Bvs

tOday is wEnsday, which means bagle day in zEphryus. i Was very excited to get out of school 2nd hour with brother fEtts a small wad of cash made possible by an assortment of underclassmen. i Ate one bagle - rosemary and olive oil - and then stole another one for jOrdin which i Forgot to give her in sPanish 3rd hour. lUnch was ok, but gArett wasn't there today with fEtts and jOrdin and myself. sWeet, adios.
